Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters

As a huge film buff and aspiring film director, I am undoubtedly excited about the upcoming movie Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Not only is it based on my favourite book series of ALL time, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, it has a pretty stellar cast.

The series is based around Romanian Folklore, and centers on the life of 17/18 year old Dhamphir Student, Rose Hathaway. She attends St Vladimir's Academy, a specialist boarding academy, set up to educate the likes of both the half-human/half-vampire Dhamphir, and the benevolent, mortal Vampires, the Moroi.
At this school with a difference, the Dhamphir are trained in the ways of Moroi protection, preparing for a lifetime of Guardianship to them, to protect them from the evil, undead Vampires - known as Strigoi.

The six book series is one of the best series I've ever read, and I have no doubt that the movie will do the books justice. The only thing, and I mean the ONLY thing, that annoys me about this becoming a movie, are the constant comparisons to Twilight, simply because of the word 'vampire'.
As a fan of both Twilight and Vampire Academy, having read both series, watched all the Twilight movies, and kept up-to-date with all the latest info for the Vampire Academy movie, I've got to say that the two series are COMPLETELY different. (so much so that I wrote an article about it)

I sincerely hope that people will see just how different it is, and once they've seen it, they'll have nothing to do but admit that they were wrong all along. Not all Vampire movies are Twilight, and not all Vampire novels are Twilight. Hopefully, someday, people will realise that.
